ARID announces appointment of Roger Ballentine to Board of Directors

8/7/2001 ARID Technologies, Inc. today announced that Mr. Roger Ballentine has been appointed to the company’s Board of Directors. "We are thrilled to have Roger contribute his ideas, experience and strategic insights toward generating new business for our company," said ARID President and CEO Ted Tiberi. "Having an individual like Roger Ballentine participate in our firm is a clear validation that our PERMEATOR product is strategically aligned to provide an elegant solution to the significant, worldwide environmental problem of gasoline evaporative emissions," he added.

Roger most recently served as Chairman of the White House Climate Change Task Force and Deputy Assistant to the President for Environmental Initiatives. In these capacities, he directed the Administration's efforts on climate change, represented President Clinton in numerous international meetings and negotiations, participated at the highest levels in the development and implementation of energy, clean air and other environmental policy, and advised the President on federal lands and coastal protection policies.

Mr. Ballentine was previously Special Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs, where he focused on energy and environment issues. Prior to joining The White House, he was a partner in the Washington law firm of Patton, Boggs L.L.P., and Adjunct Professor of Law at the Georgetown University Law Center. He has also served as Special Counsel to the Democratic Leadership in the House of Representatives.

Roger is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and Harvard Law School, and is a member of the Connecticut, District of Columbia and the United States Supreme Court bars.

ARID has been working closely with the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) to help both agencies understand, measure and mitigate these pervasive gasoline storage tank evaporative losses. ARID’s solution to this problem involves the use of PERMEATOR, a hydrocarbon-selective membrane to preferentially separate hydrocarbon vapors from air and reduce evaporative emissions by over 95%.

ARID Technologies, Inc. is a recognized leader in the commercialization of novel membrane technologies that provide productivity enhancements and environmental benefits to a diverse group of industries.
